Boehner’s spokesman Michael Steel told The Hill that the Speaker had no intention to reconsider a decision he previously made to forgo the use of a private jet for transportation to and from his Ohio district. Shortly after Republicans won control of the House of Representatives in November, Boehner told reporters that he intended to continue to fly on commercial flights.

If Boehner cared about spending tax dollars he would not have taken a day to read the Constitution, and would not be scheduling a vote to repeal the health care bill that cannot pass the Senate... FAIL...

Pelosi and Boehner each got the same salary and expense account. What they do with it is up to them. Boehner may spend the money on something else.

Hahahahahahaha. I don't care what kind of plane Boner decides to ride in. The fact that he probably makes more money in a year than most people will make in their entire lifetime cancels out any public transportation he decides to use. If he really cared about tax payers then he would tax the 5 percent of rich people as opposed to giving them tax cuts.

Let's see if this Congress makes the same mistakes of the last 20 congresses -- being a Tuesday - Thursday club, spending Thursday evening getting out of town and not returning until late Monday, or even Tuesday. Modern communication is satisfactory. Nancy Pelosi left a huge carbon footprint. She still will, but she doesn't care about "fly-over land"

It is RARE these days to find ANY politician, from either side of the aisle, to actually surrender one of the excessive "benefits" these public employees receive. And even if Boehner DID use this benefit, the simple cost of flying from Washington D.C. to Maryland would be a FRACTION of Pelosi flying to San Francisco. Wonder if 'ol Frisco will be seeing LESS of Pelosi in the coming year. Note: It's truly amazing that despite a man's integrity the Liberals still have to "pound" on him because he is Republican. this is so symptomatic of what's wrong in this country.

If he follows through on this promise, I will gain a lot of respect for him. There may be times when it is appropriate for him to fly privately, but if he does commercial, I will be impressed.

That's nice for Boehner, kinda sucks for the other people on the plane though. I'm sorry but I'm not impressed by bravado or token measures. He doesn't care about the deficit, if he did he wouldn't have added billions to it with an extra tax cut for the top 2%. It's as simple as that. Throw every poor person on the street, tell every old person to get a job cleaning John McCain's houses; you still wouldn't make any meaningful den in the deficit without raising taxes and cutting defense which Republicans will not do. All the sob stories about how he can't go pass a school without weeping for the children wont change that. I'm not surprised that this story attempting to politicize Tuscon is from Michelle Malkin's trash site as her hypocrisy would be legendary if anyone knew who she was.

He needs to fly on military or his own jet with all the porous borders we have here and also the 2 million that ICE says they cannot find that fly in from the 26 nations we have an agreement with that they can come here on 90 days visas. Add those to the borders and you got millions every year and one in seven on the southern border caught is from a terror sponsoring nation. i called for them to be protected long time ago and when people were having digits bitten off at town hall meetings and getting beaten up I knew something was in the mix. just so he doesn't ride his family and extended family all over the place and run up a hundred grand food and bar tab all the time will be ok. He is in the mix if something happens to prez It is time to face the music if we are not going to do a thing about illegal immigration and who is coming in then he and his colleagues will need protection, which by the way notice that the lobbyists would be happy to pay for it for each one as they give them billions every year*.
