Where's Manchester? If this is an international flight, I like to use kayak.com to search flights. If it's domestic, I prefer sidestep.com and southwest.com.

I always go with Southwest, they have a DING program thingy that you can get on your desktop that dings at you when they have one of their awesome specials. Sometimes if you catch those specials the prices are insanely good. Good luck!
